And now you can watch it on Netflix! Score 1 point for lazy bums like me:)
I love this show, not only does it give you survival and physical tips but it gets inspiringly human sometimes... So I get emotional watching animal planet... so what?
I like all the different stories, but especially when people get stuck in snow. It is just more close to home I guess. Don't ever pick up ice climbing... Just a tip. There are more ice hiking mishaps on this show than you can count.
The ones in the ocean terrify me too. I have never spent more than a day at a beach of any kind, and I hate water so I am pretty sure I would end up dead, floating in the water after a few hours of these people's experiences.
I just watched one about a marathon runner in Moab that was really crazy. Check it out... or don't I guess my snow days are kind of depressing:)
I love that show!! Remember when we'd sit there and watch a bunch of episodes and then realize we'd been sitting there for like 5+ hours...haha
ReplyDeleteI know!!! It's so crazy because you know eventually they will be rescued... but you just have to find out how it ends:)
ReplyDeleteYes! Oh my gosh, this is my secret favorite show of all time!!! I watch it when I'm exercising. I've watched all the seasons on Netflix and I'm always anxious for them to put more up. After watching this I also got way into Les Stroud's Survivor Man show because I wanted to learn how to NOT do some of the things these people did that almost killed them. Now I carry a bunch of survival stuff in my backpack at all times. I'm a nerd.
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorite episodes: the one where the guy gets lost at sea for like 80 days. The one with the lady in Moab (doing crunches all night to stay alive? who does that?). The one with the ice climbers in Switzerland that SPOILER end up getting married later. The one with the guy that climbs out of that crevasse. Oh, man I'm glad to know you and Kath love this show too.
DEB! A fellow survivor:) I love the one with the guy in the crevasse too! And the Moab lady was so hard core. The only downer is how much they repeat themselves in that show! haha but I just love it anyway
ReplyDeleteYay Deb!! Let's all have an I Shouldn't Be Alive Marathon!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! We should! ISBA Marathon! Oh, I HATE how much they repeat everything and also how they pretty much show you the whole show when they're introducing it. I always fast forward through the first two minutes.
ReplyDeleteI must be missing something pretty exciting.
