Hi. I was going to do a post about St. Patrick's Day but then I decided I was too lazy to upload all the pictures... So you get this instead! Yay!
Lately I've been thinking about being content. I think maybe that is why our world today is so crazy and out of control sometimes. People just need to take a minute to be content. Take last year for instance. It was my first year at college. I turned into a big ball of anxiety, stress, fear and doubt. It wasn't very fun. This year however, I feel much better. These are my secrets:)
1. Look around you!
Take a few seconds and get outside of your own head. Notice someones new jacket, or the dog running across the street. Just take a breath that has nothing to do with you. Compliment someone on their awesome shoes or help another with a math problem.
2. Listen to a good song
Even if you are having the worst day ever, just listening to one of your favorite songs will have you singing (literally haha) a different tune. I recommend a cheery Irish jig if you are feeling down.
3. Live in the Moment
Ambition is good. Don't get me wrong, but sometimes you just need to let go of the future. Focus on what you are doing right now and empty your mind of past and future thoughts. Nothing else matters for that moment.
4. Count your blessings
List them off on your fingers and toes, and each hair on your head! I am so lucky and sometimes I hate to admit I forget that at times. Think about what really matters in life.
5. Do what you love!
Seriously, just go for it. If you need a chocolate bar now, fine! Spend time exploring your talents or making new friends. When you do stuff you love to do it makes you so much more happy!
very wise
