This summer has been pretty magical. I love summer. It is always the best time of year, when you can just feel the heat, step outside and just bask in the sun coming closer to earth. It is a time to play and enjoy life. I loved every second.
So all my pictures are in order except for these ones... dumb. Anyway, last weekend Mom, Dad, Emma and I went to the Tour of Utah. We had a lot of exciting times on the road up to park city.
Possibly my new favorite picture of Emma.
We like our milk cold on road trips...
A beautiful candid moment.
The view of the sky from Park City. We bought a lot of bike junk from all the vendors, while it was pouring rain. This dude was juggling and it was pretty exciting.
We stopped at Flannigan's for some Irish lunch.
My corned beef and boxti (look at me taking food photos like some kind of hipster)
Okay Tom Danielson... you can just marry me already.
So now my pictures are back to the beginning of summer. Brecken and I used my birthday gift tickets to Steel Days and a wonderful concert... it was wonderful. (sarcasm). This was back in the days where Emma was out of the country and I was an only child. It was weird.
Becky the master decorator and party planner
Evie and I were getting pumped for the fireworks.
I should really stop taking these pictures of myself...
Kind of a terrible picture, but you just had to be there for that amazing firework show... It took my breath away.
The day after Emma arrived home we went up to Logan to the annual Opera festival. My grandparents didn't want to travel after my grandfather had a fall, so we took Brecken and her lovely Mother.
Awesome antique store, and Emma found an awesome phone.
The creepiest toy we found. The lady had a moveable arm that spanked the child in her arms... um... yeah.
We ate dinner at this great underground pizza place.
Bestest Friends! Kathleen, Muah, Kalley, Brecken, and Emma. And if you are ever in Logan, make sure to get some chocolate at the Bluebird Café. It is amazing!!
So my mother's family had another reunion for my cousin Joe because he got back from serving the Navy in Italy for about four years. And I got to hike Timp. I love that hike. I brought along a good friend from college, Brianne. She is great and has a super great blog I love to read.
Brianne at Scout Falls
The wildflowers up there were unbelievable! So many colors. This is the speedy group: Brianne, Me, Joe, Michael and my mom who was taking the picture:) We hiked that mountain at record speeds despite the fact that the change in elevation was causing Joe to nearly pass out and Michael to get the worst bloody nose I've ever seen. So much blood...
My mom at the top. haha
The view that will change your life!
Joe, mom, me and Brianne again at the summit. And if you're reading this Brianne I apologize again for taking you on such a long hike.
A couple weekends later, Emma and I went up to Stewart Falls. It was pretty fun to just hang out together.
The view from the top of the waterfall. I convinced Emma to climb up there with me, but then I almost killed myself doing it. haha my bruises are still healing.
So this has been my summer. A lot of eating, good times and hiking. Oh, also I ran 26.2 miles the other day. No big deal... I think it was the worst ever. My spine felt as though it was going to snap in half by the end of it, but actually the next day I was barely even sore. I think I might have done better if I was more hydrated, but the endorphins kept me going for most of it:). It is always sad to see summer winding down, but I am always excited for fall. See you soon old buddy!
Lovely!!
ReplyDeleteHooray for summer! I will be sad when it ends. I love the first picture of Emma...classic.
ReplyDeleteGoofy pictures are the best!
I am so glad I saw this post. How did it even take me so long to read it? Also, no need to apologize for wonderful things. :)
