Little Old Life

I am such a bad little blogger lately. But here is a quick update:

I am no longer unemployed! That's right. I have a job. It is 8 hour... 8-5 (with an hour lunch) mon-fri, stare at a computer all day kind of job. I am so excited. And I have a confession... This is all I've ever wanted! Seriously, I am one of those average citizens, little lemmings, just doing the old grind and I have never been happier. I am not one of those people who wants to change the world or do anything crazy. I like to be content and now I am:)

A while back I watched "The Secret World of Arrietty" with my sisters and aunts. I was pleasantly surprised with it. I loved the slow-moving, dreamy animation and the cute characters. Also the  music. I have become obsessed with the soundtrack and the lady who did it. She is totally wacky! Here is a sampling for your pleasure.

Bem had her birthday! I am so excited she turned 17! It really is the greatest age. We had fun making a tea party and watching movies.

Woo! This weekend was the Thanksgiving Point Scottish Festival. I love going to this every year. We began Friday night by dancing. It was a pretty good performance, with some memorable mistakes:) haha. After we performed, we watched the opening ceremonies and the games commenced!

Saturday Kath, Mom, Karen and I ran 18 miles. It was the toughest thing I've done so far. I really felt good for most of it though, so I was proud of myself. After we showered and ate, we all went to the festival and watched the games. I love to see the sheaf toss, I think it is so cool. We saw some Scottish dancers, but unfortunately not the competition groups we wanted to see. After the closing ceremonies, we went to see the whole concert: Molly's Revenge (Kath got their new CD), Men of Worth, and Wicked Tinkers!

 Ha! We look like dorks

 Getting ready for a toss!
We all go tattoos... Bet you can't tell us apart!

We also saw the Wicked Tinkers concert that night, but for some reason I don't have any pictures of them. Weird.

And that's my little old life for now!

  2. Congrats on the new job! Wow, that Arrietty lady is nuts. I wish I could have gone to the Scottish Fest on Saturday and watched the feats of strength. We were bummed to miss you on Friday as well but we had to get up to Morgan so Nick could do his race. Also, I think it's about time we recruited you to bring a pie on Thanksgiving. I'm tired of having to look at these delicious-looking photos and not getting to eat any!

  3. Haha. Yes, now that you are doing all kinds of summer-y things we should make a pie and do a bonfire by the lake!
